The battle was over, Heracross half collapsed from the energy used and almost looked like he was going to sleep. Aaron wandered over to Heracross and embraced him in a hug. “Heracross, you did great as always now take a deserved break.” His Pokemon smiled as Aaron pulled out his Pokeball, sending Heracross back inside.

Aaron then walked up to Hikari. “You battled well, I know you had the disadvantage but you and your Pokemon were determined.” Trying to reassure his opponent. “Hopefully we can battle again when you’re actually more prepared.” He laughed awkwardly and stuck out his hand.

..He’d gone completely off the tour, Arceus that wasn’t meant to happen. “That reminds me.. We still haven’t finished the tour, we’ll get your Pokemon rested up soon.” He pulled her along through the rest of the building, explaining about the other Elites and even personal comments about them until they finally hit the Champions domains.

Hikari forced a smile as she accepted his handshake, trying not to seem too disappointed despite his encouraging words. It wasn’t his fault though; she never took losses too well, opting rather to pout. But she supposed she had to put on a good-natured attitude, not wanting to be deemed as immature by Aaron.

“You’re all pretty close right?” She asked upon hearing his personal commentary on the other elites, “Like a big family.” The trainer couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh at the thought; she had never thought of the Elites’ relationships in that way before.

The trainer inhaled as they entered the Champion’s room, trying to contain her sheer excitement. Oh goodness, the room was even more impressive in person than on TV. Hikari doubted the Cynthia herself would be there now however, she couldn’t imagine the Champion hung out there all day. Still despite her recent loss, she couldn’t help glancing around with wide eyes.

Fire Fang, that was an interesting choice. The Luxio gripped onto Heracross, it definitely had some power to it which made Heracross stay on the spot. “Shake it off, quick!” This Luxio just wouldn’t give in, it was still biting down on the Pokemon and that was just a pain to deal with. 

Frustrated, he thought of the next best thing. “Use Megahorn to get it off!” Heracross couldn’t concentrate fully but then eventually his horn turned a blazing white again and used it to smack the Luxio off, Heracross then began to pant, he usually either got a break or only dealt with stronger opponents one on one.

Ven clamped down as hard as he could, trying to stay attached while the flames licked at his opponent. The force of the Megahorn however proved a successful tactic to dislodge the Luxio’s grip. He was tossed to the side, landing awkwardly on stomach. Well that was that.

The Luxio however struggled to get up, streams of electricity lashing out in random directions. Hikari flinched back, having to avoid a wild torrent herself. The Pokemon was obviously angry he’d lost, this was his way of showing frustration. “It’s okay Ven!” She called, trying to sooth the sparking Pokemon and reaching for his Pokeball, “You did great, return!”

The trainer let out a sigh as her Pokemon disappeared into its ball. ”I didn’t expect to win but,” She explained, trying to hide her own frustration at losing and looking up towards Aaron, “… It was a great battle.”

Cynthia heard the little bell on the door ring and immediately her eyes fell on the raven haired girl. She knew they had met sometime ago though it seems that her named just slipped her mind all of a sudden. Of course she didn’t want to hurt the girl but showing that she really did forget her name but she was sure it’s turn up eventually.

The blonde took a bite out of her macaroons, silently watching the girl as she walked past.

The colorful macaroons and lemon squares, cupcakes and tarts… They all looked so scrumptious! The Buneary cheered at her feet, prompting her trainer give in and order something. “Oh fine fine,” Hikari compromised, giving the Pokemon a look, “What do you want?” The brown Pokemon let out a happy squeal, motioning to a decorative cupcake before bouncing over to the tables. She hopped onto a chair next to Cynthia, cheerfully squeaking in a greeting.

Hikari turned away from the counter, holding a pair of cupcakes; she rolled her eyes, noticing that her Buneary had found someone to pester. “Sorry if she’s bothering you, Usa gets excit—-” The girl stopped mid apology as she glanced up at the woman, only then realizing who exactly her Pokemon was badgering, “Oh, C-Cynthia! I’m so sorry if she’s disturbing you! She’s um, she’s easily excitable around food… ehm…”

As the Luxio charged towards Heracross, his trainer was thinking of an idea. “Block it!” Aaron quickly commanded, Heracross crossed his arms and used them as a shield in front of his body. The Luxio had an impressive speed, but Heracross managed to defend himself with just a second to spare.

Hikari’s Luxio jumped up and tackled him head on, Heracross dug its feet into the ground to stay in place and resist the attack. His arms began to unfold whilst the electrical charge was hitting his body, suddenly they opened with force sending the Electric Type back. “Alright then..” Aaron quickly moved his fringe to the side. “Close Combat!” Heracross rushed towards Luxio with his arms preparing to attack, if they wanted to strike back he could easily counteract it.

There wasn’t a chance they could attack with out being countered and Ven couldn’t dodge that sort of oncoming attack. Hikari bit her lip, thinking for a split second before suddenly commanding, “Endure it and use Fire Fang!” Fortunately, Ven seemed to have understood what his trainer was trying to accomplish and stood his ground ready to take the blow.

He absorbed the attack with a strained growl, only then after striking. He recoiled, using the momentum of the motion to launch himself back towards the Heracross. Utilizing the last bit of energy he had been left with, the Luxio bared his canines prompting a bright blaze to erupt forth.

Hikari knew her impromptu plan was a long shot; even if Ven’s attack successfully hit he wouldn’t be able to continue due to the Close Combat he had just endured.

The Electric Type was released, Aaron called out to his Heracross “Are you still okay to battle?” His Pokemon nodded whilst facing the side, still able despite getting slowly tired from that Glaceon and their tactics, she was still willing to battle to the end even with the disadvantage, Aaron raised his eyebrows surprised, but also impressed. 

The Luxio stood there giving Heracross that intimidating stare with the electric surrounding it’s body, compared to the battles they’ve encountered that was just some cute act. “Okay Heracross, strike them down with Megahorn!” Heracross’s horn turned into a pure blazing white, he then released his wings and glided straight towards Luxio.

Watching as the Heracross powered up his horn, Hikari quickly ordered, “Roll to the side and give them a Spark!” Ven rolled to the side as he was told, barely managing to skid out of the way and landing on his flank with a thump.

Springing back up on all fours, he let out a cry, unleashing a field of crackling electricity around his body. As the sparking, blue power grew it engulfed the Luxio leaving him a blazing mass. He took off with another cry racing towards the Heracross with a speed aided by electricity.
